Joiner / Furniture Maker

Salary: £32,500 – £38,000

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Joiner / Furniture Maker to join our team. This role involves crafting, assembling, and installing both flat-pack and bespoke, made-to-measure furniture to the highest standards of quality. From wardrobes and bed frames to kitchens and living room storage solutions, you will work on diverse projects, taking them from workshop fabrication to installation in clients’ homes.

The ideal candidate will be a true craftsman with strong technical ability, an eye for detail, and the versatility to handle everything from precision joinery to on-site installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and install bespoke furniture, including wardrobes, bed frames, home office cabinetry, shelving units, and kitchens.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, designs, and client specifications.

  • Conduct on-site surveys, take precise measurements, and assess project feasibility.

  • Select and work with appropriate materials such as solid wood, MDF, plywood, and melamine.

  • Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools (e.g., table saws, routers, planers, sanders) safely and effectively.

  • Apply finishes (staining, varnishing, painting) to a professional standard.

  • Carry out repair, restoration, and maintenance of existing joinery as needed.

  • Ensure all work is completed on time, to an exceptional standard, and in compliance with health and safety requirements.

  • Accurately assemble flat-pack furniture when required.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

  • Provide excellent customer service and uphold a professional manner on all client sites.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Joiner Furniture Maker.

  • A portfolio showcasing expertise in both bespoke furniture making and flat-pack assembly.

  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and material properties.

  • Proficiency with woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools.

  • Ability to take precise measurements and deliver work to exacting standards.

  • Full, valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (essential).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.

  • Commitment to health, safety, and best practices.

EMS Furnishing Limited is seeking a strategic, hands-on Marketing Manager to lead our marketing activity and grow our brand presence. You will play a pivotal role in driving footfall to our showroom, boosting retail sales, and positioning our bespoke furniture service as the leading choice in London.

This role is perfect for a versatile marketer who thrives on both the creative and analytical sides of marketing, someone who can craft compelling campaigns, while also using data to optimise performance and measure results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Brand

  • Develop and deliver an annual marketing strategy and budget to support retail growth and expand the bespoke service division.

  • Strengthen brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage and optimise website content and SEO to capture high-intent local traffic.

  • Plan and deliver targeted email campaigns, including newsletters, offers, and bespoke project features.

  • Lead social media strategy (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) to showcase products, craftsmanship, and completed projects.

Traditional & Local Marketing

  • Coordinate local advertising (print, radio, Google Ads).

  • Build relationships with influencers, designers, and architects to generate referrals.

  • Organise in-store events, promotions, and showroom displays to enhance customer engagement.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Oversee production of professional photography, video tours, customer testimonials, and blog content.

  • Ensure all content highlights both the retail and bespoke sides of the business.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on campaign performance (Google Analytics, social insights, sales data).

  • Use insights to improve campaigns, track ROI, and support decision-making.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Marketing Manager, ideally within retail, furnishings, interiors, or a lifestyle sector.

  • Strong knowledge of both digital and traditional marketing channels.

  • Excellent copywriting, storytelling, and content creation skills.

  • Proficiency with SEO, Google Analytics, Ads Manager, and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).

  • Creative yet data-driven mindset, with the ability to understand customer behaviour.

  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.

  • A genuine passion for interiors, furniture, and home design.
